Position Title:  Accounting Manager

Summary: Raleigh Medical Group, P.A. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager. This position will be based in our administrative offices in Raleigh, NC. This is a full-time, exempt, position responsible for directing the group's accounting functions including; accounts payable/cash disbursements, general ledger, payroll and accounts receivable from related party corporations. Responsible for multiple corporation financial statements, and tax information for several tax IDs. Position reports to the CEO.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Must be a well-organized, structured planner, skilled at analyzing data and directing problem solving solutions. Attention to detail, task completion and a high level of integrity and accountability are required.
  • Develops and plans corporate objectives with CEO and staff including short and long-range accounting programs in reporting, profit analysis, accounting systems and internal auditing.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, management team, staff, payors and 3rd party vendors.
  • Manages 2-3 accounting staff.
  • Oversees, educate, directs staff and coordinates activities and responsibilities of direct reports and others as applicable.
  • Directs financial accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information. Monitors and develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees accounts payable and payroll function.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements and consolidated cash flow statements reflecting the profits and losses of each division.
  • Monitors bank account daily.
  • Continuously reviews all factors affecting the cost of administration and operation of the practice. Makes appropriate recommendations to the CEO.
  • Directs the preparation of reports for management, Board of Directors, government, and other agencies.
  • Financial presentations at the Director and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Quarterly meeting with divisions to review expenses.
  • Maintain the internal audit program to ensure internal financial controls. Oversees special audits.
  • Coordinates with accountants regarding financial statement preparation, tax returns, payroll, end of year tax planning, and any other activities requiring accountant oversight.
  • Performs reconciliations of payroll information and accounting information for budgetary purposes and monitors cash flow.
  • Interacts with auditors, lenders, and other third-party agencies regarding accounting functions.
  • Calculates physician compensation and salary continuation amounts.
  • Calculates bonuses for physicians and mid-level providers.
  • Generates and reviews reports from accounts receivable system.
  • Maintains and updates accounting procedures.
  • Prepares year-end forecasting for tax planning.
  • Prepares data for shareholder buy-ins and buy-outs.
  • Develops and monitors the internal audit program to ensure internal financial controls.
  • Maintains and reviews banking relationship.
  • Updates accounting allocations as needed.
  • Reviews 1099's and annual business property statements.
  • Tracks and monitors external lease payments, capital purchases, depreciation schedules and Escheats file with annual payment to NC State Treasurer.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years financial management experience including 2 years in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Strong general computer skills including MS Office
  • Supervisory/Management Experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred
