Position Title:  Practice Manager

 

Organization:  New pediatric and adolescent dermatology practice opening February 2020.

 

Location:  Cary, NC

 

Job Description: Practice manager needed for pediatric and adolescent dermatology practice in Cary, NC. The position requires a hands-on person with experience as a practice manager and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, organize, initiate, and lead among diverse perspectives and expertise. In addition, the practice manager will be an advocate of children, teens, diversity, community, and exceptional experience. It offers a great working environment and a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience.

 

Education/Experience/Licenses:

  • Four year college degree a must. Graduate degree preferred but not required;
  • A minimum of five years' managerial experience in a medical office setting, preferably in an independent practice setting, not a practice owned/managed by a health system;
  • Experienced in dermatology or pediatrics management desired but not required;

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with diverse medical and administrative staff, patients, children, teens, families, and the public;
  • Able to communicate and write clearly and effectively;
  • Skilled in analyzing and reporting financial information;
  • Able to elicit full participation from team members to co-create solutions to difficult problems;
  • Able to remain calm and objective in urgent situations;

 

Critical Thinking:

  • Planning (short and long term), organizing, and multi-tasking;
  • Able to take initiative, exercise good judgment, solve problems, make decisions and effectively manage time;
  • Able to set priorities, maintain perspective, and avoid crisis management;
  • Ability to lead change, practice continuous learning, and recognize adaptive challenges;

 

Knowledge:

  • Organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives;
  • Financial management including managed care contracting;
  • Human resource management;
  • Health care administration, governmental regulations and compliance;
  • Computer systems and applications;
  • Quality management programs that focus on excellence;
  • Marketing;
  • Comfortable learning new applications, new requirements, and new programs as needed.
