Position Title: Asst. Practice Administrator/Billing Office Manager

Large specialty surgery practice is seeking an experienced manager in Medical Office Administration who can assume the day to day operations and responsibilities of the in-house Billing Department. Individual should have recent experience in Revenue Cycle Management that can provide independent oversight and management of all business office functions. This position will lead to the Practice Administrator position in ten months when the current Administrator retires.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Supervision of the billing staff on a daily basis to provide maximum financial reimbursement on all professional billings by eleven physicians and eight mid-levels. High level of knowledge in CPT and ICD-10 coding, CMS and managed care guidelines, medical terminology and medical compliance requirements.
Monitor established billing, verification, coding and accounts receivable procedures to ensure high efficiency and productivity. Monitor current policies and implement new policies to maximize the revenue cycle as needed. Ability to implement changes as needed.
Provide analytical thinking to determine any areas which fall below revenue expectations and provide timely resolutions to resolve those matters. Work with managed care payers to maximize reimbursement.
Meet bi-monthly with the managing physician board to provide revenue cycle updates, feedback and education to the board and staff members to any changes in regulatory rules and billing.
Knowledge and experience in EMR billing and the ability to produce a reporting method to outline department and individual employee production.
Additional responsibilities include working with the Practice Administrator in the overall business and operations of the practice. Provide personnel management of all staff and work with physicians to achieve the goals set by the group for long range success.
Experience and Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management and a strong understanding of medical billing practices. Must have experience in CMS credentialing, current PQRS requirements, understanding of managed care policies and requirements and CAQH. Individual should have a minimum of five years' experience in a surgical or specialty physician practice setting with a strong background in financial management and supervisory skills over multiple personnel. A Bachelors Degree in Healthcare is preferred, however, extensive medical office administration/billing experience will be considered in its place. Individual must have leadership, analytical, oral/written communication and interpersonal skills as well as PC proficiency with MS Word/Excel and Power Point.
This is a very established surgery group that is considered the prime leader of its specialty in the Central Florida area. The physician group is looking for someone long term who can provide results. Position will transition to Practice Administrator within one year.
