Position Title: Neurosurgery Residency Educator
Organization: Carilion Clinic Neurosurgery (Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences)
Location: Roanoke, VA
Join a growing dynamic team of nine neurosurgeons, 11 ACPs, six residents and over 40 support staff. This position will work closely with the Neurosurgery Chief & Program Director, GME and practice leadership on resident curriculum development and Support, Resident and faculty Competency Assessments, Program Assessment and support, and other academic activities as seen appropriate.

Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. To optimize education, evaluation, and administrative aspects of the Neurosurgery residency program by having the residency educator assist clinical faculty with design, implementation, and support of the outlined areas. This would allow clinical faculty to spend more time working to license; honing their clinical care, clinical and didactic teaching, research and advising/coaching of residents and students.
Education: Have at least a masters and preferably a doctoral (PhD) degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, or other related field and five years' related experience in an academic medicine environment
Experience: Minimum Five (5) years of experience in graduate medical education, including understanding of ACGME and RRC requirements and accreditation process for Neurosurgery. Experience with grant writing and funding.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Medical Terminology, computer knowledge (MS Office Suite). Must be self-directed, independently functioning and detailed oriented. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, excellent administrative skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, creativity and innovation.
